This is not a Rock Opera.

Using the Glam Rock sounds reminiscent of Bowie’s Ziggy era with an innovative film style that delights in the avant- garde, Smith Island has created an intelligent and engaging multi-media rock docu-drama that brings its audience on an all encompassing journey.
Lead vocalist Gabrielle Stubbert guides the narrative of the story’s heroine Zelda Zardoz, with a sophisticated aggression through compelling melodies, at times dark and moody, at other times deceptively playful. It is a tale of a fragile woman running away from her childhood memories. Through a journey of sex, drugs and Rock and Roll, Zelda aspires to reach redemption but gets lost along the way until finally she is made prisoner by her own tragic existence.
Animated and dynamic this is a fun yet powerful experience made all the more effective by a great band and a welcome addition to New York’s current music scene.
