Join the Las Cruces Museum of Natural History at its monthly Sky Safari star party on Saturday, December 19, 2009. The event will be held at La Llorona Park in Las Cruces and begin at 7:00 P.M. The program typically lasts 2 hours.

See the Moon, constellations, planets and much more. In conjunction with the Astronomy Department at NMSU, the Museum will provide high-powered telescopes and expert guidance for a celestial tour of our night sky. Bring your questions or your own telescope and join us as we explore the wonder of the night sky. December viewing will include Messier objects M35, which is an open cluster in Gemini, and M42, also known as the Orion Nebula.

Please call the museum at (575) 522-3120 for more information. Participants are required to provide their own transportation. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Sky Safari is funded by the Southern New Mexico Natural History Foundation (SNMNHF).
