Sixth Kalpanirjhar International Short Fiction Film Festival November 3, 2008

Kalpanirjhar Foundation and Max Mueller Bhavan, Calcutta, in association with Alliance Francaise du Bengale and American Centre, Calcutta present the Sixth Kalpanirjhar International Short Fiction Film Festival.

This years festival will feature 87 films (18 of which are in animation format) from Germany, France, USA, Russia, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Spain, Turkey and several other countries, besides the host country. Films will be screened in various categories like Short & Sweet (15 animation films from Germany), Award-winners from USA (6 films), GenNext (22 films from film schools in India and Germany), All Human Beings are Born Free and Equal (11 award-winning films from a competition hosted by Remembrance, Responsibility and Future Foundation and the Goethe-Institut), Acclaimed Shorts from France (11 films by courtesy of Alliance Francaise du Bengale), Independent Entries (9 films), Filmfest Dresden 2008 at Kalpanirjhar and Capalbio 2008 at Kalpanirjhar (6 films each which won prizes at these festivals) and 19 Indian films that will compete for the Patton Award for the best Indian short fiction film of the year.
