Many would argue that Cabernet Sauvignon is the "king" of grapes. It is without a doubt the most successful and popular of the "noble" varietals. It is the primary grape of the top vineyards in Bordeaux's Medoc and Graves districts, as well as the basis for most of California's superb red wines. Cabernet Sauvignon ages well, needing 5 to 10 years in order to achieve peak flavor. It is often blended with other varieties to make wines with increased complexity.

Since the infamous "Paris Wine Tasting" of 1976, California has been a well-respected producer of Cabernet Sauvignon. Some of the wines are great, and some are plonk, but California Cabs consistently rank highly with experts and not-experts alike.

We are excited to bring you our sixth annual "Big, Fat Cab" wine dinner. Join us in this rare opportunity to try some of the best Californian "big, fat cabs," specially paired with a menu from Grovewood's award-winning kitchen. This year we are focusing on Big Fat Cabs without the Big Fat Price Tag - that still taste like a million bucks!

Rich Van Natter of Vintage Wine Distributor will be on hand to teach us more about Cabernet Sauvignon - the wine and the grape. All wines will be available to add to your collection at State Minimum Retail Pricing (with case discounts [10%] available!).
