"Located in a former bank building, Banq immediately impresses with a striking interior design that revolves around a blond-wood slatted ceiling that abstractly evokes a giant banyan tree canopy and well-spaced booths of exotic hardwoods. Chef Ranveer Brar starts from a foundation of modern French cuisine and adds accents from all over Asia, including India, Thailand, Vietnam, China and Japan. Diners can choose from a selection of "Asian amusé," tapas-like small plates that are well-suited to the grazing habits of the buzzing crowd in the somewhat cramped bar.
