Two days of fine art, food, wine, and fun in Silverton!

The Ninth Silverton Fine Arts Festival will be held in Coolidge-McClaine Park in Silverton on August 15 and 16, 2009. Artist and food booths are open Saturday 10am-7pm and Sunday 10am-6pm. The family-friendly days feature two entertainment stages, an international food court, wine and beer garden, wine tasting, artist demonstrations, and hands-on kids' art activities. Admission is free.

The festival includes over 80 juried art vendors from throughout the Northwest and California, working in ceramics, fiber, jewelry, wood, metal, glass, painting, photography, and more.

The Main Stage features well-known entertainers from the Northwest, including jazz, standards, swing, Latin, and tribal dancing and drumming.

The artist demonstration area highlights accomplished artists working on their craft. Visitors can meet artists working in glass, painting, and ceramics.

The international food court will feature foods from the Himalayas, Mexico, and Hawaii. Visitors can also sample kettle corn, barbeque, noodles, fruit bowls, and coffee drinks. Northwest breweries and wineries will be featured in the wine and beer garden next to the main stage.

The kids' activities area features hands-on art for children, with many individual art projects to chose from, make and take home. Children will also enjoy a variety of dance, music, and drama performances.

Coolidge-McClaine Park, with its sprawling oak trees and creek-side location, borders charming and historic downtown Silverton. The Oregon Garden is minutes away and Silver Falls State Park is less than 15 miles from the festival site. The festival is a scenic one-hour drive from most anywhere in the greater Portland area, just over an hour from Eugene and Springfield, and just 15 minutes from Salem. Convenient, complimentary festival shuttle service is available at several parking locations around Silverton.
