Silver Lake Jubilee 2010 May 22, 2010

The Silver Lake Jubilee is a two-day music and art celebration located within the eclectic and bohemian Silver Lake neighborhood. This festival features over 20 musical acts, multi-discipline art, local artists and crafters, food from local restaurateurs and various cultural enclaves in the Silver Lake community.

Some things to expect: 20+ musical acts (both local and national), comedy shows, theatre and performance art. 40+ food vendors highlighting the best of Silver Lake/Echo Park/Los Feliz restaurants and cuisine and 60+ merchandise vendors (hand-crafted and artisanal goods, local businesses and boutiques). The festival also includes an interactive children’s village, arts village, literary village and eco village.

When: May 22 & 23 (Saturday and Sunday), 2010
10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Where: Myra Ave. (the corner of Hoover and Santa Monica to Fountain Ave.)

SLJ’s Green Commitment: With the help of Sustain LA, Silver Lake Jubilee is implementing Zero Waste initiatives with the goal of 90% landfill diversion and aims to source power from alterna-tive energy sources. The festival will not utilize Styrofoam, single‐use plastic bags or plastic wa-ter bottles. A free bike valet will be available and the festival encourages Metro ridership.

About the event organizer: The Silver Lake Jubilee is organized by the Los Angeles Arts and Ath-letics Alliance (LAAAA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Funds from the festival are used to further the mission of LAAAA: To support local arts and athletics programs throughout Los Angeles through creative programming.
