Beijing-based playwright Wang Xiaoli is a graduate of the Central Academy of Drama and a former journalist. Recent projects include In the Bag, the first contemporary Chinese play to be performed in the U.K., and the screenplay for Return in Winter.

Australian playwright Katherine Thomson co-wrote Answered by Fire, for which she won a major AWGIE award, Diving for Pearls and Change in the Weather (for which she also wrote the screen adaptation), among other plays.
