THE BILL FRISELL TRIO
with Kenny Wollesen and Tony Scherr
Wednesday & Thursday
January 14 & 15
WFC Winter Garden
One of the most sought-after guitarists in contemporary music, Bill Frisell mixes rock and couny with jazz and blues to produce an entirely unique and brilliant sound.
Paired with a Frisell composition as a world premiere, this exraordinary film, re-edited by director Bill Morrison from a deteriorated nitrate print of The Bells (1926), features Lionel Barrymore as the Innkeeper who in a dream visits a country fair and is exposed as a murderer by the Mesmerist played by Boris Karloff.
Never before screened in the United States, this comedy, accompanied by an origianal score by Bill Frisell, recounts the stuggle of two men, on rich and one poor, for a lovely maiden's affection.
