Silence presents Soul Capsule (T. Melchior & Baby Ford) & Maayan Nidam September 16, 2011

Last summer we organized the first one of our five introductory “What?” nights. The intention was to make you guys familiar with our art, with the music we like to play and with the musicians we would like to present. The purpose of this introduction was completed last April before the summer break when we took time off to re-think our project and the steps we will take next on the vibrant scene in London.

Now we are back and the musical project we prepared this time will introduce a new visual element. The balance of great music and beautiful visuals can create a unique, almost a spiritual experience. Our project from now onwards will be called Silence.

For the first Silence night we got a group of very special musicians to play. First of all our headliner is the legendary underground project Soul Capsule. They will be joined by Maayan Nidam and the resident Silent Collective. Our new VJ friend Chris White will stimulate your sight with his latest video creations. All this will go on till 7am!

Artists:

The Soul Capsule is Thomas Melchior and Peter Ford (Baby Ford). I don’t think they need a special introduction here, but if some of you don’t know them yet, then you should know that these people released numerous albums and records for labels such as the legendary Perlon or Trelik, Playhouse, Aspect Music just to name a few. They pioneered the scene for over 25 years and have performed almost everywhere on this planet. You may also be familiar with their records. The Trelik classics by Soul Capsule such as Las Ramblas or Overcome were played by DJs all around the world. On the 16th of September you will get the chance to experience their very rare DJ performance.

We mentioned earlier Maayan Nidam. Yes, dear friends she is coming. This super-talented girl will play her debut set at our party! We all fell for her beautiful music a long time ago, and so we decided to bring her to play at our party. Maayan’s energetic sets full of changes and unexpected moments are well known worldwide. She releases music under many different aliases (Miss Fitz, Laverne Radix, Spunky Brewster…) for labels such as Perlon, Wolf+Lamb, Raum Musik, Freak n' Chic, Sushitech, Circus Company and many more. She released her debut album „Night Long“ in 2009 and just after this she continued with an impressive EP for Perlon. What else do we need to say?

This still isn’t everything. Chris White from Alpha Channel is the visual artist also scheduled down. His passion for abstract non linear art forms led him to the creation of amazing videos. The night will start with the Silent Collective, our Slovak-Romanian crew which will take care of the warm up set. The journey through the deepest secrets of their collection will begin at 10pm.
