A play on the names made famous by Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious and wife Nancy, Sid and Fancy is an energetic hybrid of old-timey traditional American bluegrass and contemporary punk drive. They focus on rhythmic dynamics and vocal harmony as well as music that speaks to the finality of the human condition and the levity that comes with the hubris of mortality. Their live shows (generally out of a dingy basement in the heart of Eugene OR) feature an energetic crowd, raucous celebration, and a generous helping of the cheapest whiskey around.
