Sanjay Mahajan – Singer in Sanskrit: Sanjay is an Indian Classical musician, singing Kirtan, Bhajan and Hindi movie songs. He performs live in many Hindu temples, Yoga schools, and wedding parties. Sanjay did his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Sangeet Visharad in Music and Visharad in Sanskrit and Hindi. Sanjay met Sri Gurudev in 1975 and, since then, he has been following Sri Gurudev’s guidance. Sanjay recorded the “Om Guru Satchidananda” CD, the “Kirtan for Kids” CD and the Shri Gurugita CD in Sanskrit and English and Shri Guru gita CD in Spanish. Sanjay is the lead singer in the Shri Gurugita CD. His melodious voice gives a magical touch to the Shri Gurugita.
Supriya Anne Butz Supriya is a dedicated Bhakti Yogi at heart who feels an inner calling to express her love and devotion by chanting and singing. Supriya serves as the Administratior of the Integral Yoga Academy at Satchidananda Ashram Yogaville and is certified as an Instructor of Hatha Yoga & Cardiac Yoga. She received a Bachelor of Science in "Nursing" from George Mason University. She has been also kirtanist at Yogavlle.
Brahma Rosenberg – Harmonium: Over the years, Brahma has served Sri Swami Satchidananda and Integral Yoga in many different capacities. He served in India from 1989 until May 2001 where he helped set up the Coimbatore Integral Yoga Institute. He also taught music and Hatha Yoga at the Satchidananda Jyoti Niketan School in Tamil Nadu, India. Most recently, he served as treasurer at Satchidananda Ashram-Yogaville.
Saraswati Rosenberg – Violin: Saraswati has served as Music Director in several churches in the New York City area.She has also taught music, both privately and in schools, for many years before moving to Yogaville in August Nellysford, VA. Saraswati has has recently joined the violin section of the Charlottesville University Symphony Orchestra.
Nitin Tripathi – Tabla: Nitin has been an Adjunct-Professor of Tabla at the McIntire Department of Music, UVA, Charlottesville, VA since January 1999. He has provided tabla accompaniment to vocal and instrumental Indian Classsical music, since he settled in Charlottesville. He is a disciple of the world-renown Pandit Divyang Vakil, with whom he studied the classical Tabla for about a decade in Ahmedabad, India. Nitin has provided tabla accompaniment in private CD albums. He also had the privilege of being a part of a group of renown musicians who made a philanthropic CD, entitled "Baghdad Rain", for the people of Baghdad, Iraq, Baghdad, Iraq with a title "Baghdad Rain". He has proved to be a great teacher ofTabla in Virginia for more than a decade
Skanda Andy Todhunter – Sitar: Skanda is a very talented musician on sitar, guitar, and mridanga . He has played with Sanjay at the Hindu Temple in Richmond and in Kirtans at the Ashram. He also performs in many local cafés and music events. Skanda lives in Charlottesville, after serving at the Ashram since 2003. Skanda had the opportunity to be involved in the Ashram's Archive Restoration Project, Yoga Teacher Training and of course Kirtan with many exceptional musicians including Sanjay and Guruseva. Currently he works at the University of Virginia Medical Center with his partner Nicole and is expecting a baby girl
Rama Bala – Guitar: Rama is an accomplished composer and musician that fuses jazz, rock and folk styles with Indian classical musical elements. From his soft textures and coloring to his energetic jazz grooves, and dynamic melody phrasing, he brings a fresh and unique joyful celebration of spirit to devotional chanting and music. Rama has played and provided support for many local and well known devotional artists including David Newman (Durga Das), Bhagavan Das and David Stringer.
Satyam Sam Rossitto – Keyboard: Somewhere along the line, Satyam fell in love with rock and roll and became a lead singer and keyboard player. The road to the union of yoga with music began with living room "satsangs" with Hari Zandler, to beautiful chanting experiences with Gurumayi Chidvilasananda of the Siddha Yoga tradition and performing and recording with renown chant artist, David Newman (Durga Das). Bestowing grace upon it all is Satyam’s beloved teacher, Sri Swami Satchidananda. Satyam has a CD entitled “Lotus Tattoo”.
Guruseva Munoz:Guitar. Guruseva has played classic guitar since she was very young, her sensibility for music and her devotional spirit is very deep. She recorded Shri Guru Gita in Spanish with Sanjay and sang also in Kirtan for Kids CD. She has played the harmonium and guitar at Integral Yoga in New York and Yogaville with Sanjay.
Guruseva likes to teach and perform the typical dances of South America.
