Rising star Rashpal Singh Bansal joins SJDC’s international company of
dancers. With skills drawn from India, the UK, Malaysia and the USA, these resonant, athletic bodies are the perfect foil for Shobana Jeyasingh’s ingenious choreographic language

DJ Scanner (past collaborators include Bryan Ferry and The Royal Ballet) provides an eclectic score featuring the inimitable voice of solo soprano Patricia Rosario.

Long time associates Lucy Carter (lighting) and Ursula Bombshell (costume) add to the visual feast characteristic of an SJDC production.

EXIT NO EXIT
The anticipation of entrances and impossibility of easy exits propel the
characters in this dramatic piece where a woman in a cocktail dress plays
out her own story.

Hauntingly atmospheric, Exit no Exit gains from the ‘muscular lyricism’
(The Guardian) of iconic composer Michael Nyman in a score enriched by
the smooth sounds of live bass clarinet played live by Andy Keenan.

The stage is bathed in fluid projections created by cutting edge filmmaker
Nichola Bruce (listed as one of the top 10 digital directors to watch by
Variety magazine) and evocatively lit by leading British designer Lucy
Carter.
