Share this Place is a collaboration between Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn and Lori Goldston & Kyle Hanson (Spectratone International). A multi-media performance based on the tender and triumphant lives of insects, Share This Place is a song cycle which accompanies 50 minutes of luminous and endearing stop-motion animation created by Seattle animator Britta Johnson.

Commissioned by Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, Share this Place is influenced in part by the writings of 19th century French naturalist J. Henri Fabre (called “The Homer of Insects” by Victor Hugo). It also draws from Karel Capek’s surrealist Insect Play and a host of other sources.
