132 Anting Lu (near Jianguo Xi Lu), ???132? (?????)
Shanghai, Shanghai

Got plans next Thursday evening? Shanghaiist would like to drink with you.

In what we hope will be the first of many, the inaugural Shanghaiist Happy Hour will take place Thursday, January 19 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the brand new Cotton's (pictured) on Anting Lu. We just visited the place yesterday, and it looks fantastic. The (heated!) outdoor drinking garden is even bigger than the one at the old venue. And the old home that houses the bar/restaurant -- someone told us that a Shanghai mayor once lived there -- is impressive (lots of fireplaces). Should be a cozy evening, and a good chance to meet new people or hang out with old friends.

Of course, there will be drink specials, too. House pours will be 30 RMB (normal price is 40 RMB) and the first 100 people get their first drink at half price (20 RMB). Cool music will be played by "Shanghaiist's iPod," who we're pretty sure is the world's 171,495-ranked international superstar DJ.

Shanghaiist T-shirts will be on sale for the cheap price of RMB 60 -- and, who knows, you might even win one.

Here are all the details:
