COURSE DESCRIPTION:
From ancient times, shamans have worked with the spirits of nature for healing, survival, and knowledge. By learning from the plants and animals, from the rocks and mountains, from the winds and waters, and from the sun, moon and stars, shamans helped their peoples live in harmony with the universe. In a world now out of balance, the way of the shaman can teach how again to respect nature, our Planet, and its inhabitants at a deep spiritual level. As our ancestors everywhere once knew, our survival depends on the survival of the other species. By working together intensively through shamanic journeys and other spiritual experiences, we will dedicate ourselves to working in both non-ordinary and ordinary reality to restore and maintain a living Earth.

PREREQUISITE: The Basic Workshop with Michael or Sandra Harner, or another authorized FSS faculty member.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Leslie Conton, PhD is Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Fairhaven College, Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. She is a Michael Harner Teaching Associate of The Foundation for Shamanic Studies, a practitioner of core shamanism, and a certified Harner Method Shamanic Counselor. Over the past 30 years, she has studied with many shamans in Papua New Guinea, China, the United States, and most recently, Nepal. Dr. Conton is a talented, inspirational teacher and gifted shamanic healer.

PLEASE BRING: Rattle or drum if you have one, a cushion and or blanket to sit/lay on, eye pillow or bandanna, a journal and pen.

REGISTRATION: $250.00 if received by June 26, 2009 and $275.00 thereafter.

This workshop will be held at Still Meadow Conference and Retreat Center in Damascus, just South of Portland. Accommodations and meals are not included in the workshop fees, but are available on-site at the retreat – please inquire for details at [email protected].
