Shakespeare thought that ‘Music be the food of love’. That may be true, but it certainly won’t keep your stomach from rumbling!

Enjoy a fun and light-hearted culinary look into the life and times of William Shakespeare during this special epicurean adventure in honor of his 445th birthday.

This 3-hour Tasting Tour includes lunch and tastings of a variety of Shakespeare-inspired delicacies. You don’t have to be proficient in Elizabethan English to enjoy this unique and delicious adventure!

We'll answer one of life's most important questions— To eat, or not to eat?

* Start on stage at the Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre where guests will try Spanish sack (Sherry), mead (fermented honey), and traditional English ale - expect to be delighted when we’re paid a visit by a drunken courtesan of Henry IV!
* Guests will then indulge in a variety of desserts incorporating Elizabethan ingredients like hazelnuts, dates, and exotic spices.
* A light lunch will then be served.
* The tour will then head to the Reading Terminal Market to taste a multitude of cheeses, including a cheese from Romeo and Juliet’s fair Verona--a cheese that’s so good, even the Capulets and the Montagues agreed!
* For the final act, ‘make the world your oyster’ as we partake in an oyster tasting.

This tour is great for individuals, families and out-of-town guests, and makes a perfect date for star-crossed lovers!
