SFJazz Collective featuring Joshua Redman March 9, 2007

Featuring saxophone star Joshua Redman and the combined talents of eight of the finest musician/composers of our time, the SFJAZZ Collective is at the very forefront of contemporary progressive jazz. Launched in 2004 by SFJAZZ—the West Coast’s largest non-profit jazz institution—this dream-team features musicians who are all stars in their own right: Redman, Bobby Hutcherson (vibraphone), Renee Rosnes (piano), Nicholas Payton (trumpet), Miguel Zenón (alto saxophone), Andre Hayward (trombone), Matt Penman (bass), and Eric Harland (drums). Unlike most all-star ensembles, the Collective conducts intensive rehearsals each spring and focuses on new material written by its members specifically for the group.
