The next SF Sustainable Business Happy Hour is TODAY, Thursday,
February 8th 6:00 - 8:00 at Elixir on 16th & Guerrero.

In celebration of Valentine's Day we have a special sponsor this
month. Devine Chocolates will be serving free samples of their fair
trade chocolate and Elixir will be pairing them with their Bushmill's
Whiskey tasting. Of course if you're not a whiskey drinker, Elixir
has several organic wines and beers you can buy to pair with the
chocolates on your own.

"Divine Chocolate, the world's first farmer-owned chocolate brand,
was formed in 1997 when farmers of the Kuapa Kokoo cocoa cooperative
in Ghana voted at their Annual General Meeting to create their own
chocolate company. With investment from The Body Shop and Twin
Trading, and support from Christian Aid and Comic Relief, Divine
Chocolate was launched in the UK. In late 2006, Divine Chocolate
launched a US company with investment from Lutheran World Relief,
Oikocredit, and SERRV International. Divine has been distributed in
the US for the past several years with the help of SERRV.

Divine brings a unique business model to the chocolate industry - not
only does Kuapa Kokoo benefit from the Fair Trade prices and social
premiums they receive, as owners of the company the farmers get a
share of the profits, a say in the company, and a voice in the global
marketplace.

Divine's quality chocolate bars are made from the "best of the best"
100% Fair Trade cocoa from Ghana. Divine is available in many natural
food stores - if your local store doesn't carry it, ask them to!"

I hope you can come join us for some delicious chocolate and drinks
this evening.

See you there!
