SF Online Community Report MeetUp, Wed. Sept. 23, 7 PM September 23, 2009

The fourth Wed. of the month is the free monthly gathering of online community managers, enthusiasts, and innovators to meet and discuss tools and strategies for building and managing effective communities.

Sometimes the online community you start off with goes in a very different direction. Our Sept. speaker, John Yamasaki, Community Evangelist for Seesmic can attest. Seesmic started out as a video blogging community and has since changed course, moving into building online community around its web application and desktop Twitter client. John will speak about community management strategies for a changing community platform as Seesmic continues to evolve. This presentation will kick-off an informal, yet spirited discussion of online community tools, tips, and rules of the road.

Speaker Bio : John Yamasaki is the Community Evangelist for Seesmic. Involved in the tech industry since 1999 and the nonprofit sector prior to that, John is focused on social media and finding ways that technology can bring people together.
