Press Release:
Moondata Productions presents an evening of sight and sound. Music bordering the worlds of cinema, avant rock, modern classical, free jazz & glitch will meet ?music for the eyes?, in the form of a live mix rendition of 99? Dreams, a new film from Moment Factory.

99? Dreams is the new feature film from Moment Factory set for release in 2005. What is a 99? Dream? It is the vision of one's idealized self, taken to full realization ? all our dreams and aspirations - if only for the sake of telling a story. Filmed on all 7 continents by the characters themselves, they each followed the camera toward their dreams no matter how impossible they may have seemed. The premise of this docu-fiction comes from Moment Factory's leitmotiv that the future is now; that today's technology, transportation and communication make everything possible.

As the project developed, Jason Rodi, the film?s director, would mix the footage live with Sevens Project, a musical group fostered by Moondata Productions and made up of a variety of local performers ? from Patrick Watson to members of Bell Orchestre, Parkside Jones, Torngat, IKS. Led by Matt Lederman, Moondata Productions has been gathering talents from the local scene for the past 2 years, producing shows based on intuitive and improvisational methods, using the moment, the "live" to bring out the best of a group effort.

On September 30th, Moondata Productions and Moment Factory will be staging their next creative meeting. The visuals and music performed will be recorded and used in the official 2005 release of 99? Dreams. As Sevens Project plays their half-composed/half-improvised repertoire, Jason Rodi will interpret the film with a live visual mix.

Supporting the night will be local favourites Torngat. An instrumental trio of drums, keys and french horn, this unique lineup plays a range of styles, from ambient modern classical to funked up jazzy breaks. Simple yet intricate energy music & texture based improv.

Appearing for the first time in Montreal will be Pittsburgh?s Zombi. Directly influenced by soundtracks to old horror movies, this duo of analog synths and percussion recreates mood music that can make you move, jump, & maybe scream in terror. They just released ?Cosmos? on Relapse Records, and are taking their warped soundtrack all over the USA.
