Has the winter gotten you down? Now that the holidays are over and the new year has arrived, have you found that you have nothing to look forward to? WRONG! Please join us for a night to remember as World Cafe Live welcomes back the 2nd Annual "Get Rid of Your Winter Blues Festival". Hitting the stage will be some of Philadelphia's and NYC's best unsigned acts: Seth Kallen & The Reaction will rock. Funky Butter will groove. Jon Check will inspire. The Undisputed Heavyweights will uplift. These artists will come together for a night of good music in the name of charity, and of course, to help you Get Rid of Your Winter Blues!

Part of the proceeds from this show will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation as well as the Sowbackya Illam Children's Home in India. There will also be a charity raffle for the event as well as grab bags at the door full of independent music and artist merchandise. And, like last year, there will also be special surprise guests... so get your tickets now!

Scheduled order of performances (subject to change):

The Undisputed Heavyweights: The Undisputed Heavyweights are a New York City band that have been described as "Frank Sinatra meets The Doors in a way only Stevie Wonder
could dream of" (A.M. New York). Their sound is melodic, memorable, and completely original. Lead singer Casey Shea has a stunning, soulful voice that works wonders in all octaves. While each song is uniquely different, together the melodies build an unexpectedly cohesive set.

Jon Check: Throughout the past year, 22 year-old Pittsburgh native Jon Check has toured extensively throughout the Northeast with his powerhouse trio - and without a bass player - spreading his unique brand of soul-infused rock. With the help of the Pittsburgh-based Creative Life Support Records, he completed his self-titled debut album in the summer of 2006. The album runs the gamut in style, encompassing funk, blues, gospel and modern rock and employing a multitude of sounds: synthesizers, organs, horns, wind-chimes, a gospel choir and the voice of Rusted Root's Liz Berlin - still with no bass player.

Seth Kallen & The Reaction: A t the age of 17, Seth Kallen released his debut album, It Occurred to Me, and shortly after, with local radio station WXPN 88.5 FM catching on to the buzz, began selling out venues in the Philadelphia area. Kallen has shared the stage with Duncan Sheik, Blue Merle, Citizen Cope, Amos Lee, and several other Philadelphia locals. During this time, Kallen put together his backing band, The Reaction. Kallen moved to New York City in 2005 to study at NYU's Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music, and in 2006 the group entered the studio with producer Tim Sonnefeld and came out with a new album, Exhibit A, which explores a much more mature, refined and adventurous sound. The band has provoked comparisons to artists such as Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Wilco, Gin Blossoms, The Wallflowers, and Matthew Sweet. Seth Kallen & The Reaction make edgy pop-rock with a touch of American roots music and experimental Britpop.

Funky Butter: Funky Butter may not be funky or buttery, but its rich and sweet, and full of surprises. The bands original sound is for people who love music, by people who love music. Gentle and thunderous, nuanced and brash, poised and un-posed, Funky Butter draws from a wide range of musical styles and influences to create its own brand of emotionally honest music.
