Taj Gateway Presents Seminar - Toyota Production System & Lean Manufacturing. In mid 20th century and during the post world war sceneario, Toyota Production System was evolved to meet competition from Western Countries and for implementing productivity improvements. Toyota Production System, in fact, revolutionized the traditional Mass Production concepts and gave a new world of techniques to practising managers i.e. Just In Time, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Autonomation, SMED, Machine Down Time to Machine Up time, Multi-Skilling of Workers and Kaizen, etc. Mr. Taiichi Ohno and Mr. Shigeo Shingo are the prominent individuals, amongst others behind this historical evolution and development of Toyota Production System. In fact TPS started Transition from Mass production to Lean Manufacturing to Supply Chain Management. Many Industries took lead from these revolutionary concepts and practices to develop their internal process improvements plans. The seminar will take an overview of Toyota Production Systems keeping Indian scenario and achievements in mind.
