A quintessential visual artist of the Beat era, Wallace Berman was a remarkable catalyst, traveling through many different worlds, carrying the ideas and ideals of one group of people to another as he moved through different creative, social, and political circles. 'Semina Culture: Wallace Berman and His Circle' offers an extraordinary snapshot of the post-war arts underground in Southern California, a groundbreaking scholarly exploration of the individuals and communities Berman gathered around him as they worked, lived, created, played, and above all, collaborated.
