In observance of Columbus Day and the anniversary of the first contact between the Old and New Worlds, the Tigard Library will again host a musical celebration of a variety of cultural heritages. On Sunday, October 10, from noon to 6 p.m., the Library's Community Room will pulsate with music representing some of the cultures that embody Oregon today.

The festivities begin with Ronnie Robins and his heartfelt samba-infused jazz at noon, followed by Giti Najafi with a performance of Persian dance and music at 2:30 p.m. The program will close with Andean flute music at 4:30 p.m. Participants can sample snacks representing a variety of cultures.

This free program is generously supported by the Friends of the Tigard Public Library. For more information, please call the Library at 503-718-2517, or visit the Library's website at: http://www.tigard-or.gov/library/
