Seattle Flickrites' Brews and Views: Garage April 26, 2007

This month's Brews and Views is going to be a horse of a
(slightly) different color. As any of you who have attended
that last couple months knows our numbers are growing! Which
is really wonderful (I'm glad you are having fun) - but also
presents a few logistical challenges.

We are now to the size that I need to warn the places we plan
to descend upon and even reserve spots for us. The only issue
with that is that (rightfully so) most places expect something
in return and normally that is a minimum spend. We don't meet
most places' minimums. You all are two busy shooting each
other and messing with equipment to eat and drink much! The
place I had hoped to go in April has a minimum that is twice as
much as we spent in March. So I've ditched them.

So for this month's meetup I've come up with a sort of
compromise. We are going to the Garage - a very fun place,
that's not the compromise! - and I've rented a couple of pool
tables for a couple of hours. That guarantees us a place and
an associated seating area. They don't require a minimum spend
or a single check (yeah!) but since we will be paying for some
pool time - all are free to play - I will be asking that you
all chip in $2 to help cover the cost of the tables. I'll
collect it from you THAT NIGHT - DO NOT USE PAYPAL. And that
is EVEN IF YOU DON'T PLAY. I like you all but I don't feel
compelled to cover these costs on my own! ;-) And this is a
much cheaper alternative to a minimum spend.

We also have the option of bowling, but not until 8:00 - when
you RSVP if you think you might want to bowl (there will be a
small additional charge for the lane and $3.50 charge for your
shoes) say so in your RSVP. That will help with planning.
Although we can also just be flexible that night.

And, of course, there will be another photo contest!! This one
will combine a couple of ideas that people suggested (thank you
all!).

April's contest rules are as follows:

You may submit two entries.

Each entry must be a comprised of two photos in one - sometimes
called a diptych. One of the photos must be of some
flickrite's photographic gear (and please read the rule the
follows this!). The other photo must be of billiards/pool gear.

Make sure in the description that you say WHO'S Gear it is -
the more info, the more points. E.g. Most point given for
something like this: This is Brenda's (aka Culinary Fool) lens
cap. With either Brenda or Culinary Fool LINKED to my
photostream.
