"A strange – and strangely moving – tale … with an ultimately comforting charm, despite its wicked plot turns. Schwartz commands a sure skill with a tune and the arc of a dramatic evening.”
–Los Angeles Times

City Opera presents the New York premiere of the first opera by Stephen Schwartz, the Oscar and Grammy-Award winning composer of hit shows Wicked, Godspell, Pippin and numerous Disney films.

Based on the novel by Mark McShane and the noir film adaptation of 1964, this psychological thriller stars the mesmerizing Lauren Flanigan as an ambitious psychic who devises an elaborate kidnapping scheme to win the fame she desperately craves.
