Topic Description
Load shifting - from peak to non-peak - provides benefits for both customers and utilities. Customers reduce their average electricity bill while utilities improve the efficiency of their generating assets. Two of the most successful clean tech companies, Comverge and Enernoc, achieve load shifting benefits primarily through usage reduction. Complementing this approach, are new technologies that help load shift, by storing non-peak energy for use during peak demand periods. What are these promising technologies and how much can they contribute to reducing peak usage from the grid?
