Topic: HTML5 for Skeptics

If you've been watching the HTML5 hype with bemused skepticism, or simply want to sound smart over cocktails, this presentation might be for you. Scott will show you how Vertigo approaches the Open Web Platform, and more importantly, how they talk to their customers about it.

He'll cover how they balance HTML and plug-ins, the tradeoffs of going HTML over native for mobile apps, and strategies for ideal compatibility across many browsers. He'll analyze the latest browser statistics, review the state of the spec, and discuss how to answer clients who want rich sites, but want it "HTML5 compatible".

With all the buzz around this topic, you have a good reason to be skeptical; Scott wants to help you be more informed about where to invest your energy.

Presenter: Scott Stanfield
