And increasingly this data is being saved, aggregated, and analyzed. These massive data flows present big challenges to firms, but also new opportunities for deriving insights.

Michael Driscoll has a decade of experience developing terabyte-scale databases and predictive algorithms for telecom, financial, and life sciences institutions. He is the founder of Dataspora LLC, a big data & analytics consultancy whose client roster has included Microsoft, Xerox, and Major League Baseball. Previously, he founded an online retailer (CustomInk.com) and worked as a software engineer for the Human Genome Project. Michael holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Boston University and an A.B. from Harvard College.
