1924 Cedar (at Bonita)
Berkeley, California

An epic moving film by Oliver Hodge about Earthship eco-architect Mike Reynolds and his team of green disciples who build beautiful off-the-grid homes from garbage. This is a truly hopeful and humanitarian documentary that gives you hope for a self-sufficient and sustainable future. Particularly inspiring are the sections on his team’s successful efforts to create inexpensive sustainable housing for the Andaman Islanders on an emergency basis after the 2004 tsunami, and his long (and eventually victorious) struggle to persuade the New Mexico legislature to create a space for his vision of creative sustainable housing experimentation.
