6:45 Program: Search Engine Marketing Hot Seat

PROGRAM:

Have you ever wanted to get specific, straight-to-the-point answers and advice on your website's search engine optimization (SEO) strategy? Even if you currently don't have a website that is seeking customer traffic, would you like to see some real-world examples of what to do (and not to do) to get a website advertised well and ranked highly in the search engines?

Taking a cue from the Search Engine Marketers of Portland (SEMpdx.com), we have created an event just for you! This is our third year for what has become a very popular event , where lots of information is shared and learned. And for starting off the new program year, we are holding this event at the soon-to-be-reopened Strega's Restaurant, with the best aerial view of Corvallis!

How the SEM Hot Seat works:

You provide the site, we'll provide the panel of search marketing experts (four local e-commerce websites will be reviewed on the big screen, online). Our panel will critique your site and provide advice on how to improve your search engine results. You'll walk away with specific search engine marketing advice tailored to your site that you can implement right away. Even if you don't have a site for our panel to critique, you will gain valuable insight and answers for common search marketing problems and questions.

* Overhaul your search marketing strategy with advice from a panel of SEO/SEM experts
* Get specific SEM advice for your site / campaign
* Insight into common search marketing problems, questions, and issues

Attendance space for this event is limited so RSVP now!

Websites for HotSeat

These are the websites that the panel will review.

* www.PoshStyle.com (Corey Oakie)

This website, associated with the Urban Laundry clothing store on Monroe across from OSU, sells high-style clothing to a national and occasionally global market. The young couple running the business update the site themselves while raising young children, running a bricks-and-mortar store, doing photo-shoots with models, and fulfilling orders. Traffic to the site is slow and revenue is below the physical store. They want to change that.

* www.StruCalc.com (Peter Bambe)

Cascade Design Group in Corvallis operates this site to sell its software for construction design, StruCalc 8.0 for Windows. It's a complicated software sell with a light, regular and enterprise version. The site is ripe for improvements in SEO, design, conversion, organization, etc.

* www.Centerspace.net (Trevor Misfeldt and Dan Whitaker)

Centerspace sells mathematical software marketed almost entirely through Google Adwords and search engine ranking. The site is dense and a bit geeky. It is maintained in-house by the company. They want to boost ranking, traffic and sales conversions.

* www.SpindriftCellars.com (Tabitha and Matt Compton)

This local family winery is growing as an e-commerce distributor and e-tailer of its premium wines, some of which have received national visibility through very high Wine Speculator ratings, such as its Spindrift Pinot Noir Reserve wine made from non-irrigated vines. The owners want to expand their sales focus beyond Oregon, and wish to identify a good SEO strategy to invest in.
