The Santa Barbara Choral Society celebrates its 65th season with “Gold Rush!” a gala fundraising event. The lively, Old West-themed event features the Choral Society’s production of Kurt Weill’s rarely-performed operetta, “Down in the Valley. Arts patrons Marilyn and Dick Mazess will serve as the event’s Honorary Chairs.

Festivities will begin with signature cocktails followed by a performance of “Down in the Valley” led by Choral Society Artistic Director Jo Anne Wasserman. Appetizers, wine, and a barbecue feast prepared by renowned western barbecue chef Cowboy Flavors’ Billy Ruiz will follow. Line dancing will have guests on their feet till the saloon closes. Attire for the event will be “western bling” or cowboy casual.
