?In honor of the Dalai Lama?s November visit to Washington DC, Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Mindroling Monastery are creating a traditional Tibetan Red Tara Sand Mandala at the office of the International Campaign for Tibet, 1825 Jefferson Place NW on 20-21 September from 10.30 am ? 5.30 pm. You are invited to come at any time during the day to watch the creation of the sand mandala.

Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning ?circle?, and Tibetan monks create these beautiful archetypal templates with grains of colored sand to remind us of the cycle of life and death. The mandala will be ceremonially destroyed at ICT from 5-7 pm on Thursday 21 September. Following the ceremony please join the Mindroling monks and staff of ICT for some traditional Tibetan refreshments. For more information, please visit: www.savetibet.org?
