Featuring one of the most recognizable horn solos in the repertoire, Strauss' tone poem Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks tells the story of a legendary mischief-maker who thumbs his nose at convention and creates mayhem wherever he goes. Also on the program is a world premiere for string orchestra from Assistant Concertmaster, Mark Volkert, the Orchestra's longest tenured member. The program concludes with the majestic melodies of Beethoven's final piano concerto performed by Grammy-winning pianist Yefim Bronfman.
