San Francisco Made Week May 21, 2011

May 21-27, various locations and times; May 25 fundraiser, 5:30pm

SFMade's inaugural San Francisco Made Week is a celebration of the city's manufacturing sector. San Francisco Made Week will feature local factory tours, a pop-up shop of SFMade products, citywide retailers selling locally-made products, and a fundraising gala held at the century-old San Francisco manufacturer McRoskey Mattress.

ACTIVITIES:
* Tour local factories - various locations throughout the city, May 21-27
Take a tour of some of the City's best known and emergent artisan manufacturers' factories and experience the process of making first-hand with SF Made "Open Factories" or go on a one-day walking tour with SPUR.
* Shop at SFMade's Pop-Up Shop, Sat May 21, 10am-6pm, 780 Valencia Street
A one-day shopping event in the heart of the Mission featuring 20 SFMade member companies: Shop for your sweet tooth, accessorize your home and garden, expand your wardrobe with locally made clothes and bags, and much more!
* Eat and drink local, at an SFMade Off-the-Grid: McCoppin Place, between Market and Valencia Sat May 21, 5-9pm
Food trucks, music, beer- all made in San Francisco!
* Come to SFMade's annual fundraiser! Wed May 25, 5:30pm, McRoskey Mattress 1687 Market St. SF, $45
"What's Old is New Again" is a celebration of local manufacturers and their products at the iconic McRoskey Mattress Company's Market Street location, featuring a unique interactive live "showroom" of SFMade products; with artisan food and beverage pairings from the SFMade community; and Allison Arieff, former editor of Dwell. Event Chair, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee.
