This delightful comedy opens as Morris Brown, a secular Jew, travels back to Galicia for a religious family wedding right before the High Holidays. His daughter, played by Molly Picon, tries to get into as much trouble as a modern girl in a shtetl can, from lifting weights, to teaching young villagers to shimmy. 'East and West' is presented with a live electronic groove funk score improvised on the spot by Charlie Hunter, Scott Amendola, and Justin Peake.
