99 Marina Boulevard
San Francisco, California

The San Francisco International Beer Festival, Northern California's original beer festival, celebrates its 24th year!

Ticket holders to this legendary event get unlimited tasting of more than 150 of the world's finest microbrews and international rarities, plus food from some of the city's best restaurants along with awesome music and fabulous raffle prizes. Come by yourself, with a friend, a group...it's a famously friendly venue year after year.

All proceeds benefit the children at Telegraph Hill Cooperative Nursery School, a parent-run school for over 53 years. The International Beer festival is the school's sole fundraiser and is produced entirely by its member families.

The first San Francisco International Beer Festival was held in 1983. It was the brainchild of the Director of the school, Lucy Stofle. Prior to this, fundraising for the school was achieved in a variety of different ways (plays, movie screenings, dances) but the beer festival proved to be the most successful fundraiser and it has been growing ever since. It began with an attendance of 100 people and now about 3,000 people come from all over to enjoy the fun. The event provides about 70 percent of the school's annual operating budget. This allows tuition to remain affordable for all kinds of families. Parent members of the school's 20 families all work to produce the event. It is a homegrown city tradition! Local merchants and restaurants donate food and raffle items. Beer makers and distributors donate their brew. Parents help get the food ready, set up the venue, decorate the massive Festival Pavilion, coordinate publicity and ticket sales, assist vendors, direct workers, work crowd control and perform clean-up. The event is a full weekend of non-stop work for these parents of one, two or more children.

Get your tickets early - they go on sale online March 17th. The event has sold out 4 years in row.
