Roberta Salper was the first full-time faculty member in the nation's first Women's Studies Program. San Diego State College (now University) was the venue for this innovation. Stories abound about the contentious initial year of Women's Studies. Salper will share the inside story, told for the first time, excerpted from her forthcoming historical memoir.
