In Eight is Not Enough, Rainbow Chamber Players of the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony perform Octets/Nonets by Beethoven, Mozart, and Gounod with Brian Thorsett, Tenor and Jessica Bejarano, conductor. Live program notes will be presented by Cariwyl Hebert of Salon97. Reception to follow.

Launched in 2008, Bay Area Rainbow Symphony (BARS; http://bars-sf.org) is an orchestra dedicated to increasing visibility and challenging stereotypes of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) composers, instrumentalists, and performing artists. BARS performs ambitious repertory to a high standard, connecting with and bridging audiences from all communities and backgrounds.

Also established in 2008, Salon97 is a community-based organization that makes classical music inclusive, educational--and awesome--for people with an interest in arts and culture, but who find the formal nature of the concert hall intimidating. Through a series of curated, themed listening parties and other hosted events, attendees learn about and discuss classical music, form new friendships and business relationships, and have a great time!

Eight is Not Enough is presented by Salon97 and Bay Area Rainbow Symphony. Free of charge--donations accepted. www.salon97.org www.bars-sf-org.
