Salón investigates the personas we inhabit in a social event; the struggle and the need to interact with strangers; the urge to see and to be seen, the ways in which we include or exclude ourselves in a social experience. Salón explores the social need of dance, proposing an avenue where we can expose each other, accessing an exchange that is animistic and vital. Salón is a bridge between a performance and a social event. During the evening, 17 performers and the audience share the same space; participating in the various emotional and physical landscapes that are conjured throughout the piece, a social transfiguration can be experienced.
