Sally's Tomato is reknowned percussionist Sammy Figueroa's Cal Tjader tribute band. Cal Tjader, who recorded almost 80 albums in his long career, and collaborated with Eddie Palmieri, Willie Bobo, Mongo Santamaria, Tito Puente and many others, was one of the great innovators of Latin jazz. A classic tribute band, Sally's Tomato strives to capture every nuance of Cal Tjader's "Willy Bobo' period and is perhaps the first genuine Latin tribute band (as opposed to a !cover' band).
