Gutter industrial trio SALEM make their Bottle debut tonight after much praise for their two stellar EPs - the first of which, Yes I Smoke Crack on Acephale, sold out before it finished pressing - and a punishing new full length out via Merok Records. Conceptually, they're almost classical, though screw, juke and disembodied bass all feed into the murky lo-fi sound and the tracks, in the words of FADER, "celebrate release, whether from comfort or nightmarish inevitability." SILK FLOWERS are new signings to NO AGE-run PPM Records and bring some east coast grit to their roster. Featuring members of CAR CLUTCH, CORPSE KISSER and SOILED MATTRESS AND THE SPRINGS and playing tunes off their July-released self-titled album, this is not a set to miss - DEAN SPUNT (of NO AGE) has said, "they're probably the weirdest band I know," and that's saying something. Analog synthesizer maestro NEIL JENDON and BloodLust! label mates THE FORTIETH DAY- the infrequent public duo of ISIDRO REYES (BLOODYMINDED) and MARK SOLOTROFF (ANATOMY OF HABIT and BLOODYMINDED), rejoin with recent Museum of Contemporary Art video artist LISA SLODKI (aka NOISE CRUSH) to open tonight's explosion on unholy rumbles.
