Yu-Ai Kai, a senior community center, will host Sake San Jose, a benefit sake tasting walk through San Jose Japantown, on Thurs., May 25, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participating merchants will have special tables in their locations, each with a different type of sake, many of which are not yet available in the U.S. Takara Sake USA, Gekkeikan USA Sake, World Sake Imports and other sake producers will feature daiginjo, ginjo and junmai grades of premium sake. Tickets are $35 and go on sale March 1 and may be purchased from Yu-Ai Kai (588 N. Fourth Street, San Jose, 408-294-2505) and participating merchants in Japantown.
