Rope -- Saturday, September 23 at 4:30 PM
Starring James Stewart, Farley Granger & John Dall. Directed by Alfred
Hitchcock
(1948, 85 mins., Color, Not Rated -- but may be unsuitable for young
children.)
Two college chums, their heads filled with Nietzchean philosophy, kill
a third friend more or less as an intellectual exercise. They then
deliberately tempt fate by throwing a dinner party literally around
the body, hidden in their apartment. Rope represented three firsts for
Hitchcock: the first of his movies in color; thefirst time he was
producer as well as director; and his first movie with James Stewart.
Not often shown on the big screen.

Other Hitchcock & Stewart screenings: "Rear Window" on Fri., Sept. 22 at 8PM and "Vertigo" on Sat., Sept 23 at 8PM

Each screening is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors & children 12 years
old and younger. Combo discounts for two or more screenings are
available.

The Landmark Loew's Jersey Theatre screens movies on our 50 ft wide x
25 ft high screen, using carbon arc illumination for the brightest,
whitest light. We run reel-to-reel, not platter, which often allows us
to screen an archival or studio vault print that is the best available
copy of a movie title.

The Landmark Loew's Jersey Theatre, located at 54 Journal Square,
Jersey City, is directly across J.F. Kennedy Boulevard from the JSQ
PATH Center, is minutes from the N.J. Turnpike and is easily reached
by car or mass transit from throughout the Metropolitan Area.

Half-price off-street parking is available in Square Ramp Garage
adjoining the Loew's. Patrons present a coupon to garage attendant
when they leave. Coupon is available at our box office.
