Romantasy Cabaret, a wildly popular variety cabaret show with added carnival and big top vibes, is back for another round!

ROMANTASY CABARET’s Speakeasy Sins, The Gin Joint’s a-Jumpin’, will once again kick up its’ heels on Saturday April 25 2009 at Club Red located in Tempe at 2155 East University Drive. The doors open at 7:30pm and the three-act show will get on at 8:30pm.
Since 2007, the event’s director Lucy Morals has mixed up an ever-changing line up of singers, dancers, circus folk and lowbrow shtick comedy with her vintage approach to modern variety. The first two acts of the show offer a wide range of entertaining vignettes with act three presenting lovely burlesque beauties who bare almost all.

The 2009 season , with its Roaring Twenties theme encourages even audience members to participate by donning pearls and fringe or pin stripes and spats. The last show proved even the audience appears part of the ambience as darling dames flitted about with feathers and heels while dapper dandies strutted about in suits and ties. Those who do arrive in costume will receive free raffle tickets for chances to win prize bags with gifts from local merchants as well as fabulous glamour trinkets for ladies. Additionally raffle tickets will be sold for one dollar each with 50% of the proceeds to benefit Wildlife Victoria a wildlife organization aiding injured and displaced animals from the arson fires in Australia.

Romantasy Cabaret boasts a cast and crew of about thirty of Phoenix’s most creative performers. Audiences are guaranteed a wide variety of freakish feats, barely-dressed beauties and naughty humor. In addition to a large number of new, exciting acts, featured returning artists include Motley Sue, burlesque beauty Dolly Diamonds, dancing dolls Six Sweet Cheeks and funny man Tom Tuerff. Also returning for the 2009 season are the vivacious yet brash Lucy Morals, the tantalizing High Pimpstress, and Mother Fakir of Strange Family Circus.
Show goers are also treated to a wildy fun after party where the cast and crew mingle with audience members for photos, fun and dancing to the live music provided by The Undertone a Romantasy Cabaret addition since 2008.
