Romano Drom means "gypsy road" in the Romani language and reflects both the tradition and the modernity of the olah Roma ("Gypsy") music. Led by Antal Kovacs, Romano Drom mixes old and new compositions achieving a new sound unique to Romani music yet deeply rooted in its traditions. The young Macedonian/Turkish clarinet virtuoso Ismail Lumanovski gathers an all-star band to perform jazz-inflected Turkish, Balkan and Mediterranean Romani songs.
