Robin Coste Lewis writes poetry, essays and fiction. Her writing has appeared in various journals including The Massachusetts Review, The Harvard Gay and Lesbian Review, GCN: A Queer Progressive Quarterly, The Pocket Myth Series (Orpheus and The Odyssey), the anthology Black Silk, and is forthcoming in The Encyclopedia Project. After graduating with a Masters of Theological Studies degree from the Divinity School at Harvard, where she concentrated in Sanskrit and African American Religious Literature, Lewis became the Cole Professor of Creative Writing at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. Later, she became an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. In 2004 she was a finalist for the National Rita Dove Prize. She’s been an Artist-in-Residence at The Caldera Foundation, The Ragdale Foundation and The Headlands Center for the Arts, and will be a writer-in-residence at Can Serrat International Centre for the Arts in Barcelona. She is completing a poetry collection titled Pleasure & Understanding. Born in Compton, CA, her family is from New Orleans, LA. Azareen Van der Vliet Oloomi is pursuing her M.F.A. in fiction at Brown University and is the 2008 National Small Press Month Co-ordinator.
