Fourteen dancers from Mali, Benin, Nigeria and Senegal perform in Heddy Maalem's interpretation of 'The Rite of Spring' (Le Sacre du Printemps). Highly dynamic dance sequences and overwhelming group scenes are intertwined with intense scenes of silence and film projections. His extensive training in boxing and aikido continue to influence his choreography, which is marked by precision, sparse vocabulary and clarity.
