RICHARD JENI
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28, 8PM
MOORE THEATRE

Hot off the heels of his third HBO Special A Big Steaming Pile of Me, award-winning comedian RICHARD JENI is once again being singled out by his peers, the industry and the public at large. A one-hour concert special on cable’s most honored network is a rare achievement claimed by a small handful of comics, and a third HBO special cements Jeni among the stand-up elite. The number who has been asked to return for a 3rd outing is smaller still. Chris Rock says, “The HBO Comedy Hour is the most important showcase there is for comedians. Nobody is more deserving than Richard. I think Richard Jeni is one of the best comics who ever lived.” Mr. Rock is not alone in his praise; accolades for Jeni’s comedy have come in from all corners. TV Guide has called him "Flat-out hilarious" and People Magazine has called him "Thrilling to watch." In a recent Comedy Central poll/television special, Jeni was voted one of the “100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time.” He holds the American Comedy Award for “Best Male Stand-Up Comic.” In addition, Richard remains a sell-out attraction across the country and has been voted “One of the Top 10 Shows in Las Vegas” by the Las Vegas Review Journal. In his all new HBO special, Richard tackled Political Correctness, Terrorism, Religion, the U.S. Obesity Epidemic, The Drug War, Internet Porn, Gay Marriage and Liberals vs. Conservatives in a non-stop comedy barrage. With his trademark mixture of sass & class, Jeni flips effortlessly through moods, characters, and crushing one-liners leaving his audience dazzled and howling for more. Richard’s previous HBO specials were “A Good Catholic Boy," which in its premiere outing, the show was the fifth highest rated cable program of the week and called “A non-stop comedy barrage that left the audience dazzled, breathless, and hungry for more,” by Entertainment Tonight and “Platypus Man,” which won the Cable ACE Award for "Best Stand-up Comedy Special.” Richard also starred in his own television series and his work in films includes a co-starring role with Jim Carrey in the blockbuster hit “The Mask.” Richard has also released a CD entitled "Richard Jeni's Greatest Bits" which is a compilation of his fan’s favorite material.
